Photoshop Fun with our Avengers Pictures

So remember that Avengers: Age of Ultron photoshoot some friends and I did?

Well I have another friend who, upon seeing the pictures of facebook, decided to do a little "editing" on them.

Needless to say, it was very entertaining, and he did a great job!

I got a good laugh out of it so I thought I'd share.

Enjoy!

The gun. lol.

10 Favorite Screen Characters Tag

I was nominated for the 10 Favorite Screen Characters Tag by Hamlette, so thank you!

This tag looked like so much fun, but seriously how in the world am I supposed to pick my 10 favorites? You have given me a difficult task. But I think I've just decided to list 10 OF my favorite characters cause there's so many and I'd hate for one to be offended because I left it out. I've also tried to just pick one from each movie or series, cause otherwise I'd list every character on Sherlock and I'm attempting to make this list as diverse and interesting as possible. So here's 10 characters, I could think of, that I thought are pretty cool.

 Clinton Barton (Earth-199999)

Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) from the Marvel Universe. He's smart, quiet, has mad archery skills, and a great sense of humor. Hawkeye is the type of person you can depend on and would want to be your best friend. He's that guy you know you could fight side by side with. And I'd love to take a few martial arts and archery lessons from him! I really love what they did with his character in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

ONCE UPON A TIME - "The Crocodile" Preview Pictures

Killian Jones/Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) in Once Upon A Time. I love a good redemptive story. And a pirate. And a guy with swagger. Seriously how could anyone not love Captain Hook from this show? The character development they have Hook go through is really a great piece of writing, probably my favorite of any character from any show. Heartbreak and revenge turned to love and loyalty, this guy has seen a lot. (and somehow still come out the other side with a great sense in fashion.)

I think this picture basically describes him. :D | Dr. Rodney McKay (David Hewlett) - Stargate: Atlantis

Dr. Rodney McKay (David Hewlitt) in Stargate Atlantis. What can I say? I like smart people. There's more than one genius on this list. McKay is that quirky annoying character you can't help but like. He gets the best science-y dialog in the show and more often than not makes me laugh. There is never a dull moment when Dr. McKay is around. (he also may or may not have something to do with my liking of astrophysics...)

Amy Pond

Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) in Doctor Who. I love how fearless, adventurous, and independent she is. She's not afraid to fly off in a spaceship and save the world. She is also loyal and would do anything to protect the ones she loves.

Which "Sherlock" Character Are You?<----- How in the world did I get Mycroft?

Mycroft Holmes (Mark Gatiss) in Sherlock. I really debated which of the Sherlock characters to put down here, cause I obviously had to put down at least one. Sherlock himself is probably my favorite but I'm also a fan of his older brother Mycroft. Having read the books, Mycroft is just as brilliant if not more than Sherlock. Only he has slightly more common sense and prefers not to do the "leg work" as he calls it. I admire Mycroft's brilliance and his ability to solve problems and direct people with logic. Not to mention his interaction in the show with his family is actually quite funny. That awkward family of geniuses.

Richard Greene as Robin Hood in The Adventures of Robin Hood

Robin Hood (Richard Greene) in The Adventures of Robin Hood. This black and white version still stands as my favorite portrayal of Robin Hood. (Though I am liking the guy on Once Upon A Time) To me this is what Robin Hood should be, fun and lighthearted. Most versions today portray only the dark and decaying side of the middle ages. I'm not saying that it wasn't, I just like seeing the fun legend of Robin Hood that we all grew up reading about. A bit more fairytale and a little less dark.

Spock (Zachary Quinto) from Star Trek. I feel so nerdy for finding him attractive. Lol

Spock (Zachary Quinto) in Star Trek. I love Spock's logical personality. Also how he tries to convince everyone that he is only Vulcan and does not have emotions. But he's only half Vulcan and I love when the human side comes out in him. Zachary Quinto also does an amazing job portraying him. Making Spock my instant favorite in the film. The first time I watched the rebooted Star Trek movie I was blown away. Despite the solar flare thing, I think they did a phenomenal job making this movie.

Michael Caine-Loved all of his Movies from Georgie Girl to this day. You can tell a great actor if they don't look like they are trying. He's a natural.

Alfred (Michael Caine) in The Dark Knight Trilogy. Otherwise known as Batman's butler.I just like this guy. And he makes some great inspirational speeches in those movies. I love how he is always there for Bruce no matter what stupid thing he does. This guy makes me wish I had a loyal butler. Maybe I should become a vigilante and hire him...

Naomi Scott as Maddy Shannon in Terra Nova

Maddy Shannon (Naomi Scott) in Terra Nova. She is not your typical "teenage girl". She is really smart. She's sweet, brave, and the right amount of girly. And she's  not afraid to take on a dinosaur or two to protect her little sister. I love the family dynamic in this show, and I really wish they had made more seasons of it.

well I do deserve a king instead of a prince after all! I got Thranduil! Which Male "Lord Of The Rings" Character Would Fall In Love With You?

Thranduil (Lee Pace) in The Hobbit. There is more to this elf king than meets the eye. My favorite part of the entire that movie his the exchange between him and Tauriel as the end. You just know there is more to Thranduil than he is letting on. Lee Pace does a great job playing him. He ended up being probably my favorite character from the movie. Not to mention he has some pretty great costumes.

And there you have it. I think I ended up with a pretty diverse list, as I was trying to be unique.
And that took me longer to write up than I care to admit... Haha...
     Until Later!

Lessons from the Farm

I actually live on a farm. You may not have known that. Granted it's a small farm. Nothing commercial or anything. We grow some blueberries to sell at farmers markets. We had dairy goats for several years. Even a milk cow once. I've raised chickens, rabbits, pigs. We actually just got some ducks for the first time, and they are super cute. But you have I idea how weird ducks are. Cute but weird.

My current thing is that I own a couple of horses. I call them my ponies, really only one is a technical pony though. Lately with all my school stuff and graduation plans and life I haven't been able to spend as much time with them as I'd like. But each night I go out to put them up by the stable for the night. Generally they are always waiting by the gate but tonight I was later than normal and they were out in the field. But that was actually quite nice. After a long day it was relaxing to walk out into the field underneath the stars to retrieve my ponies. There is something about the smell of horses to me. It's so good. Like immediate stress release and burst of happiness. I totally recommend just hiding your face in an equine mane and take in the scent. Maybe it doesn't do it for you, but I have so many happy memories associated with the horse smell it just makes me happy.

 .

I hear someone has actually made a horse scented candle. I should buy it.

.
Then there were strawberries. Now we have a few strawberries. Just enough to make a strawberry shortcake every once in awhile. But this morning we headed out to a local strawberry farm owned by some friends. Why, you ask? They needed people to pick the berries. You pick they pay. I like money. Hey, who doesn't? But when it came right down to it, it was less about earning money and more about the principle. I suppose I just wanted to prove to myself that I could indeed get up early on a Saturday and go spend all morning in a field. It was hot. You're in the dirt. I'm not the most robust person in the world. Health dealt me a few bad cards. But in the end I did accomplish it, and I'm proud of myself. I picked a lot of strawberries. I honestly didn't know one could pick that many strawberries in a morning. With all that said about farming, I'm really not a farm girl. I kinda like heels better than boots. So I suppose the point of all that is to prove to myself that I am still capable of getting down in the dirt and working hard. *mentally high five-ing myself*

 strawberries

Needless to say I came home and painted my toenails and watched about 3 episodes of Person of Interest while lounging in my pajamas. Give a little take a little.

Avengers: Age of Ultron Premier and Photo-shoot

Okay, can I begin by saying how AMAZING AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON IS!!

Completely epic movie. I just can't. Say. How. Awesome. :D

It adds a lot of depth to certain characters. (example Hawkeye and Black Widow) Though I'll try not to write any spoilers. :D But I have to say I was pretty surprised, but I really like what they did!

There are some epic action sequences. Like. Wow. The special effects are amazing, and the action is so well done. I loved it!

And the humor in this movie! LOVE. Without it, I think Age of Ultron would be pretty depressing. But it has some great, witty humor that literally makes you laugh out loud. :D

And the new characters introduced. VISION. I won't say more, but loving the new characters.

AND THOR'S HAMMER you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it

So. This movie. Epic. Go see it.

Anyways! Enough about the movie. (I could go on and on...)

Before we headed to the theater for the premier of Age of Ultron we decided to do a photo-shoot. Cause we obviously dressed up in costumes. And let me say, we had some pretty awesome cosplays going on.

Like I said in a previous post, I decided to cosplay Agent Peggy Carter. (Complete with an attempt at pin curls, which ended up looking more like an 80's hairstyle but whatever. lol)

We also had a fem version of Captain America and the Avengers newcomer Scarlet Witch. And with three cameras going we got lots of pictures. I obviously didn't take the pics of myself, so photo credits go to Beth and Amber!

Head over to The Adventures of An Elven Princess to see the full totally awesome Captain America photo-shoot when she posts it. (And some of the pictures I took!)

So without further ado I present to you my version of Agent Peggy Carter!

Attempting to tame the mane. The wind and my hair that day. lol

Ready to save the world!

I'll have to post more pictures later, as this is already a really long post. (But hey that's good right!) We have some really awesome group shots as well as some pics from inside the theater! (Not to mention a few more of my favorite Agent Carter photos.)
So until then! (And go see the movie!!)

Pre Age of Ultron Preparation

GUYS AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON COMES TO THEATERS THIS WEEK

I'm a little excited. Ok. Maybe a lot. :D

A group of us are going (my Renaissance buddies!) to the premier tomorrow and we decided to do some cosplaying. (It is the premier after all!) It really took me a long time to decide on which costume to do. I debated Hawkeye first but thought his costume might be too complicate. (Same goes for Loki, though I really want to do that one. Thor 3, maybe?) Then I seriously thought about doing Nick Fury. I have the trench coat and everything for that one, and it'd be fun to wear the eye patch. But in the end, after a moment of inspiration, I decided to go with Agent Peggy Carter.

She's not actually in Age of Ultron. (I think. Perhaps she'll show up and I'll be surprised. You never know...) But oh well. Close enough. She's still been in a lot of Marvel stuff recently. So it works.

And the fact that her costume wouldn't really be that hard to put together. (Unlike Loki's...)  Just a bit of thrift store shopping and voila!

Agent Carter has a lot of different great costumes. Even more with the addition of her own television series, which I really enjoyed. But in the end I decided I wanted to do something similar to this outfit.

Mixed with this outfit. (Basically I wanted the leather jacket from the first pic and the skirt and heels from the second.)

Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell): Captain America, the First Avenger

I ended up doing the rest of my shopping for it yesterday, and I just tried everything on together today. I'm really happy with how it turned out!! I think it really works, and people should be able to tell what I was going for. :D

For now here's a few pictures of what I have. (I was too lazy to get out my good camera so I just took some off my ipad, so quality... ya... lol)

I definitely had to do the red lipstick thing. This one's called "British Red" I knew I had to buy it when I saw that. :D
I also plan on attempting to pin curl my hair. Attempt is the word. We'll see how it goes... :D

Tomorrow we are planning to do a bit of a photo-shoot before we head to the theater. So hopefully we'll end up with some awesome pictures of le costumes!

CAUSE TOMORROW IS AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON!!!

The official Avengers: Age of Ultron poster is here, and I have some questions.

Until Later!
Enjoy the movie folks!

A Really Random Blog Post

The part of the show where I write a really random blog post. :D

Because there are a lot of things I'd like to write about, but I don't really think I should devote an entire post to each one. So I shall be writing about a lot of random things in one post! Hurray!

Okay, I lied. This topic does deserve an entire post, so for the moment I shall just hint about it. Cause it was super fun and exciting and I have like a billion pictures. I visited a Renaissance Festival! Complete with a joust and everything! We dressed up of course. I shall elaborate more on that later... For now one picture.

Yes, that is my friend from Adventures of An Elven Princess. :D I'm on the left.

I was super happy to see the return of When Calls the Heart over on the Hallmark Channel this past Saturday! I loved the first season of the show last year. Its pretty cute. Its based on the Canadian West book series by Janette Oke. They took liberties with the show of course. (who doesn't these days) But it's still a great show and a lot of fun! It even has horses, which, you know, makes me happy. And I love the costumes! So I'm happy its returned for a second go. Saturdays on the Hallmark Channel 8/7c!

Season two airs 8/7c on @hallmarkchannel 4/25/15!

Aanndd the Kentucky Rolex 3-Day Event was this weekend! (If I haven't spelled it out yet, I'm a big horse fan. lol) The Rolex is like huge in the eventing horse world. They have this really awesome live stream for the event. So I basically spent my weekend watching it while I did homework.

If you don't know what eventing is, its english riding that is a competition consisting of three events generally over three days. Each horse and rider team must compete in dressage first, then cross-country, then show jumping. The pair with the best score is crowned the winner after all three competitions. Its basically the Iron Man triathlon of the horse world. It requires finesse, endurance, and precision. This year it was won by an amazing German rider who actually took both 1st and 3rd place because he competed with two different horses. Confusing I know, but no less amazing! Anyways, I've been basically glued to the live-stream on the internet for the last three days. There were some absolutely amazing horses and riders competing this year! (Yes, I watched it last year too...)

Check out this helmet-cam video of Elisa Wallace and Simply Priceless as they take on this year's cross-country course. It was her first year competing in the Rolex and they finished in the top 20. Very well done!

And lastly, I'm very happy to be finishing up school. My official graduation is at the end of May. Woo-hoo!

Until Later!

tv show review - Scorpion

One of my absolute favorite things about Fall  is the fact that new shows premier on tv. (And your favorites from last year return for another season!) Of course most of the new shows will be ridiculous or get canceled, but one can always hope that you will find that one you like among the newbies. Its basically like a television treasure hunt...

This year CBS launched a new drama called Scorpion. Its wasn't originally on my radar. I must have missed the promotionals somewhere or another. It ended up that my cousin introduced it to me. (We have a tendency to trade tv and movie suggestions.)

 Scorpion Tv Show

Borrowing the description from IMDb, "An eccentric genius forms an international network of super-geniuses to act as the last line of defense against the complicated threats of the modern world." Basically the show is about a team of eccentric geniuses who tackle various intense problems.

Its actually based on a true story which makes it even more cool!

I personally love science-y, tech-y, and genius-y type stuff so this show perked my interested from the start.

Now I think this show has a lot of potential. But it has had some bumps along the way.

I have a feeling this exchange might happen between Eli & Red. Especially if they were undercover or something.

To start, they have a lot of really great ideas but sometimes they don't come across as well as they could have. The dialog is lacking in areas. But I will agree that the basic idea behind the show is really good. And they have done a fairly decent job explaining each of the character's back story. I think the writing did get a lot better as it went along though. And a lot of the story plots were really original!

With Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Jadyn Wong. An eccentric genius forms an international network of super-geniuses to act as the last line of defense against the complicated threats of the modern world.

The directing and acting in Scorpion started out a bit rough. That really is not surprising though since for most of the actors this was their first big role. But towards the end of the season I could see a large improvement. Particularly with the main character. There were a few scenes in the last couple of episodes that I was really impressed by. I don't know who directs the episodes but that always tends to have a big impact on how well of a performance the actor gives. (In case you didn't know its better to watch new movies by who directs them than by who acts in them. For example David Nolan directs The Dark Knight trilogy and Interstellar. Both are amazing.) I think as the actors became more comfortable with their roles it got a lot better.

(This show is also, except for like maybe one episode, pretty clean; which is always nice.)

Scorpion on cbs

Over all this show isn't as captivating or cinematically stunning as some of the stuff on right now. But it is decently entertaining and it has a lot of potential. Its the type of show that you just sit down and watch when you just want to relax. (and not be emotionally traumatized!) Its guaranteed to make you think, and you'll feel super smart as you watched a bunch of geniuses save the worlds problems. (It also has some secret agents involved, who doesn't love a good spy?) While its not my all time favorite or the best ever made, I enjoyed it.  I think this show could go somewhere; it has a lot of potential. Its pretty entertaining and lots of fun.

So if you're ever bored and you're out of things to watch, try looking up Scorpion!

Scorpion on CBS

(They just wrapped up season one and should be back with a second season in the Fall!) (And don't you just love borrowing pictures off the internet? Thanks Pinterest!) :D
