So!
Loads of new experiences happened last semester!
People ask me all the time what I think of school. Is it hard? Have a boyfriend yet? Etc. etc. etc. (Anyone read that in the voice of that Indian guy from that musical whose name I can't remember? All I can remember about that is that quote and the fact that she had a giant hoop skirt dress the entire movie. Anyways...) My answer so often surprises people. (well, not the boyfriend thing lol they'd be surprised if I did respond favorably on the that note) The school work is not hard. Perhaps I just had easy classes last semester. I think I did. Either way they weren't a problem. The "hard" part of college was the social aspect. Like wow. I didn't realize how terrible I was at making friends until I went to college. But gracious. I'm practically a hermit! Ok, maybe not that bad. But really. Its not like I can really feel bad about it though. Cause practice makes perfect, right? And, well, to be quite honest I have never had to make new friends before. Its not like I ever went to school or moved somewhere new. So that has been a huge learning curve for me.
Another learning curve I went through was living somewhere new. It took me awhile to get used to it. They say it takes 6 weeks to form a new habit and that is kind of how it was for me. But I did get there eventually! And I'm not dreading going back next week, which is awesome!
I participated in some interesting new things too. Like going to a formal event for the first time. (I skipped on Prom. Shame on me. lol) Dressing up was fun! Though there was no dancing involved which bummed me out. Thought the whole banquet was Hunger Games themed which was pretty sweet!
Some of the girls on my floor. That'd be me in the black dress under District 4. |
You know what I really missed this semester? A microwave. That was random. But I got one to take back with me and I'm really happy about. I'm looking forward to hot chocolate and popcorn!!
Guess what I've been pinning on Pinterest lately... |
So. Its 2016 now. A new semester approaches. So here's to another brave semester! I am going back, and I will be one step closer to that degree, an education, and a brighter future.
(Life. Did I say anything about normal life? Idk. lol. How about this. I got a car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) (With that and my microwave I am a very happy college girl. :D)
That sounds awesome! I'm still in High school, and frankly I'm kinda scared to go to college, I excited too! But mostly scared. :)
ReplyDeleteWoot woot on your car and microwave! :)
Hey! College is scary stuff! But I think it's pretty worth it too. Focus on the excitement about it!
DeleteAnd thanks!! I already named the car Friday. Do you think I should name the microwave too? lol :D
:) Friday is a such a cute name for a car! Yes! Name the microwave! It might feel left out! :) XD. Say Hi to your car and your microwave for me please!

DeleteThank you so much!! :-D I hope so too! I've chosen my majors and now I have to choose electives..
DeleteWhat major have you chosen?
DeleteEnglish Literature and Ancient History =D
DeleteLooking lovely, I suppose not having a microwave would make hot food rather difficult!
ReplyDeleteThanks! And you really have no idea... lol!
DeleteGood luck at college this semester! Yeah, I've found the friend thing to be hard too, but I guess I've come to terms with the saying that quality is always better than quantity. I have one really good friend, and I'm slowly finding that's all I need :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! And that is a really great reminder. I will remember that!
Deleteyou look beautiful in that black dress! the Hunger Games theme seems pretty awesome too! Im glad college is going good so far! best of luck for the next semester!
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty fun! It really felt like we were in the Capitol eating dinner at a party! And thanks!!
DeleteAmen to that second paragraph. School work, not so hard. Social life, yes, way hard. :P Loved the recap!! Hooray for your new car and microwave. :D ^_^
ReplyDeleteAlso, I never got to see that film you were in... *hint hint nudge nudge* ;D
And I've only seen the thing once myself. I keep bugging the guy to send me the video but film makers are notoriously not known for their memory... lol! I'll send it your way when I get it. :D
Delete=D We're all bingewatching LOTR now!
Deletema family :)
DeleteAw man, that sounds awesome! I want to join! :D
DeleteI wish you two could too!! :D "my friends you bow to no one" *sniffs*
DeleteYOU GOT A CAR?????? WHAT EVEN!!!! I can't wait to see it!!! :D So much exciting! And the microwave. Just yes.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post, and am glad to hear you're not dreading going back to school. I'm actually looking forward to it. When you're used to being super-busy, break can get a little boring...
See you in a couple days!
