College Recap (and why I love microwaves)

Break has nearly come to an end. I'll be back at school soon. Classes start in a week. So lets talk college. And life. And college life.

So!

Loads of new experiences happened last semester!

People ask me all the time what I think of school. Is it hard? Have a boyfriend yet? Etc. etc. etc. (Anyone read that in the voice of that Indian guy from that musical whose name I can't remember? All I can remember about that is that quote and the fact that she had a giant hoop skirt dress the entire movie. Anyways...) My answer so often surprises people. (well, not the boyfriend thing lol they'd be surprised if I did respond favorably on the that note) The school work is not hard. Perhaps I just had easy classes last semester. I think I did. Either way they weren't a problem. The "hard" part of college was the social aspect. Like wow. I didn't realize how terrible I was at making friends until I went to college. But gracious. I'm practically a hermit! Ok, maybe not that bad. But really. Its not like I can really feel bad about it though. Cause practice makes perfect, right? And, well, to be quite honest I have never had to make new friends before. Its not like I ever went to school or moved somewhere new. So that has been a huge learning curve for me.

practice makes progress- Practice doesn't make perfect. My karate instructor used to say only perfect practice makes perfect, and then I heard Michelle Duggar say Practice makes progress.:

Another learning curve I went through was living somewhere new. It took me awhile to get used to it. They say it takes 6 weeks to form a new habit and that is kind of how it was for me. But I did get there eventually! And I'm not dreading going back next week, which is awesome!

I participated in some interesting new things too. Like going to a formal event for the first time. (I skipped on Prom. Shame on me. lol) Dressing up was fun! Though there was no dancing involved which bummed me out. Thought the whole banquet was Hunger Games themed which was pretty sweet!
Some of the girls on my floor. That'd be me in the black dress under District 4.
I also got to act in a student short film. That was interesting to see myself projected rather giant-ly in the auditorium. I won't lie, that was pretty sweet. My first ever public showing of a film I was in! (even if it was only five minutes long LOL) I actually hadn't even seen the footage before it was shown so  I was kinda nervous. Like what if I looked awful!? It worked out. I didn't die. (Hurray!!)

You know what I really missed this semester? A microwave. That was random. But I got one to take back with me and I'm really happy about. I'm looking forward to hot chocolate and popcorn!!

Guess what I've been pinning on Pinterest lately...

So. Its 2016 now. A new semester approaches. So here's to another brave semester! I am going back, and I will be one step closer to that degree, an education, and a brighter future.

(Life. Did I say anything about normal life? Idk. lol. How about this. I got a car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) (With that and my microwave I am a very happy college girl. :D)

  4. Good luck at college this semester! Yeah, I've found the friend thing to be hard too, but I guess I've come to terms with the saying that quality is always better than quantity. I have one really good friend, and I'm slowly finding that's all I need :)

    1. And I've only seen the thing once myself. I keep bugging the guy to send me the video but film makers are notoriously not known for their memory... lol! I'll send it your way when I get it. :D
